About This is a river called San Juan river which have carved this winding canyon. Mighty force of Water! From lookout to the water level is more than 1000 feet and the river has similer another winding which brings total continuous windings to 4 before the river continues its journey to Lake Powell. River flows 5 miles in these loops and the distance from start of loop to end is only 1 mile - so, river flows 5 linier miles in the 1 mile stretch. This type of winding formation by river is considered rare in the world and this is a example of how impressive formations nature can comes up with . Because of the windings its called "Gooseneck" and the place is a State park in State of UTAH.

I Hope you like the image.

Wow! I have photographed this place. It is indeed a glorious location with an almost mystical presence. You must have been there on a "special" day, for I myself did not see the glacier-lake turquoise blue that you have captured here. The river generally has a "ruddy" green/brown complexion that I've seen. This is a very unique capture of vivid color. A beautiful composition from a very beautiful perspective. Pretty shot. -john

its a very interesting geological feature! it looks alot like Horseshoe Bend (which is on the Colorado River) also near Lake Powell... The photo itself is very vivid, almost too vivid, just my opinion... also the sky looks a little too photoshopped...nice shot anyways, im envious that you were there to take it ;)
best regards
david
