this morning when shooting a poppy field, a farmer's lady told me that there was a cornflower field near to her farm even more beautiful than the red one; although I couldn't believe anything more stunning than a poppy field, she told me she would switch off electricity in the fence around it and that I should have a look; and she was right, it was definitely more beautiful and I almost couldn't believe my eyes because there was blue everywhere; as far as I remember, I've never seen anything more amazing here in Luxembourg; the most surprising of this story is that this lady didn't know me but she saw me taking photos before she and her husband went to church and when coming back and still seeing me there with my camera she got out of the car to give me this advice and I was so glad about it
This does look very beautiful my dear Mireille and I love the depth you have in this shot along with the lovely colour tones. What a wonderful story in your about which goes to prove that there are some very nice people scattered about and now and again we bump into them. Well done to you my dear. All the best....Ray
Hi Tony, Thanks for all your valuable ideas-much appreciate! I'll upload a few more photos of this amazing field in the next days and would be glad to read about your opinion (unfortunately all taken with the 105mm). It was very cloudy today and if it's different tomorrow evening, I'll return there for sure with the wide angle and keeping in mind your other ideas. Thanks for your visits. I had a quick look at your portfolio-everything is great there. I'll have a closer look at it when having more time. Regards, Mireille

Mireille, from what you've written I sense the excitement you felt when confronted with all these wonderful blue flowers and then wondered how best to capture it and communicate how you felt about its beauty. It's a feeling of excitement that I know well as I spend a lot of time in the field too!I don't feel you've managed to nail this one,it's a bit bland really but I'm sure that if you go back there you'll be able to get something with more impact. The grey sky doesn't contribute to the image, maybe a contrast with the bright yellow corn would have worked better.Iwouldn't have used the 105mm here but rather a wide-angle but getting much closer to the flowers, from a different angle-higher or lower- and really try to emphasize the beauty of these flowers.Anyway, just a few ideas......keep working at it,I loved your poppy shot:) Best wishes, Tony
