About This image (5680) was shot in old downtown Ballard on 28 April 2006.

I don't know what kind of cactus this is, but the whole plant was maybe 8 or 9 feet tall. I found it dead in the back parking lot of a building on Ballard Avenue.

This image has been shrunk, resized, rotated, auto-contrasted, and I've added the matting.

Questions and comments are always wecome.

Annemette - Thanks. This one was huge (taller than me) and dead (hence the colors). I do think it made for a compelling abstract.

I am just looking through your portfolio seing whyat you´ve been up to in general. This caught my eyes immediately looking as a mountainrange to me with clouds on top.
Close-up it looks rather appealing as well with the thorns and the feeling of an alien lifeform with these tones and the visible veins.
I like cacti quite a lot, but I had no idea that they , Luxpoet

Mary - Amazing. Two very different and yet sensible mis-interpretations for this image (see Art's comment). Thank you.

Art - I see what you mean about clouds, but yes that illusion only exists in thumbnail.

Your poor waterfall image: everyone wants to do something different with it. Your only hope is to get a waterproof case and shoot it from underneath. Hahaha.

Thanks for stopping by.

Masahiko - I'm glad you like this one. I was really happy with this image myself. Thanks.

Maybe some other painter could do that. My paintings look more like my Luxagraphic images than anything in the real world.

Roberto - Thank you. I notice you are shooting with the 30d. I am considering either the 30d or the 1d. Any thoughts? Complaints?

Thanks, Mary. I tried to get some of the blue sky in several of the images I shot in this session, but those didn't strike me as well as this one once I got them on the big screen.

This is very eye appealing. The dark tones and light contrasts create a mysterious type of mood. Neat picture.
