I see your point, I suppose. Honestly, I considered cropping it out, but felt conflicted as I didn't want to lose the weighted feeling from his leg and hand in the lower left. Any recomendations for that?

I understand your point, Jacob. But clutter is distracting to the viewer, who cannot understand context. In this case I agree that a good pic can be made a lot better by deleting unimportant detail. To me this is the major difference between an amateur snap and professional work.

I don't know. I hear a lot of people saying to crop out materials in front of subjects, but personally, I like the feeling of perspective that objects in images provide.

This is a nice portrait, which could be improved by cropping out the water bottle.:)
