About It's a hot, steamy afternoon in San Antonio, and I spied this guy setting up shop on a street corner while I was on my way to buy this new lens! (WooHoo!!).

On the way back, I stopped long enough to buy a watermelon, and then ask for his photo. He happily obliged and tossed his towel onto the melons and smiled.

So...this is THE first photo with my new Sigma 10-20mm lens!! Cropped to square, selective desaturation and contrast levels tweaked in CS2

Excellent choice for the b&w/color combo. And that lens looks like it does a great job.

Best wishes
Dave

Well he certainly looks happy for you to take his photo. An honor for him I'll bet!!

I very much like your choice of selectiving coloring on this one....

Good capture, you'll never forget this gentleman.

Congrats on the new lense, I'm jealous of course!

Good work,
have a GR8 day,

Lori :)

Thanks, Gayle.
My motivation on this setup was putting his simle in front of the watermelons in the truck.

Congrats for new lens,brat!...i like that you chose a "working class" guy in his work environ for this project...the selective color approach works well here...i would have liked to see a shallower dof to blur some of the BG and perhaps a lower perspective looking up a tad with that wide angle lens, but all in all a good effort
regards,gayle
(haven't driven off a cliff yet,and hopefully will get some pain relief on Monday :(

Paul, good capture of the guy. I know many of the will cooperate but not necersily the way you would like, may be if you buy 10 WMs. Anyway you got great shot and did interesting PS on. And I'm sure to see your pictures from playing with the new lens. Cheers, NJ

That is a great lens, have had one for a couple of months but haven't put it to much use yet. This is very with the the selective color. The melons look great. Don.
