Hey Sean, I see you're still living under the pier, presumably alongside other software engineers. BTW, I checked out your website, and, um... well, when the men in white coats arrive, just cooperate. They just want to help you.
Let's see, what else. Oh, yes, I suppose I should critique this photo. OK, I really like it, and have no suggestions for improvement.

Nice capture of texture and graphic qualities. Love it in B&W. I really need to shoot B&W again! I've been converting in PS but still miss the real deal.

aiman, andy: thanks
sue: most of the time, actually pretty much all the time, i have a #8 yellow on when shooting b&w. i find the tonal range a bit better and there's just a touch more contrast. if i'm not using the #8, i'll have a #25 red on which darkens blue sky and makes the clouds pop. it's also needed for infrared film or pseudo-infrared like ilford sfx. those 2 filters are my primary ones for b&w. i've played with a green #11 a few times and find that works really well with portraits taken outside. i've never tried the orange but i imagine it's going to give similar results to the yellow. start playing and let's see what happens. 8)

I agree with Aiman: the flare isn't a problem at all to me. Wonderful work with the exposure as there is excellent detail through the whole range of the image. Really nice composition too. Good work.

Sean, this is very strong composition... love the contrast and the dramatic mood of the shot... don't mind the flare at all.... well seen and well done
