Nice shapes and colors but I think your composition is too symmetrical. maybee you could place the fruits in a more loose way. A bit more disorderly. And yes the lighting is too strong.

I like your subject and composition, but the lighting seems just a little harsh... otherwise great!

Charles, I think this is not bad. I don't like the reflections off the ruit, they seem too strong. It would seem that you need to use diffuse light, not direct flash.There seems to also be too much contrast as well. Maybe using natural light as well might work. Not really sure but the composition and the colours of the fruit are nice.
