Sheesh Marcus, you don't leave much room for criticism - beautifully composed with a classic wing position, sharp, nicely exposed - there's not even a horizon to straighten!

Welcome back Marcus!
A beautiful classic pose from this Hawk. Your usual excellence!

Sometimes I find that when you take a break for what ever reason, You can come back with a little extra passion. I've never been away from photography for very long my whole adult life. Maybe a few months at a time at the most.

Great dominant capture so clear and the sharpness of the eyes are great. Being against the blue sky figures out perfectly, super as always.

Thanks Hugo, yes this is a no frills shot, bird blue sky, I actually think now that a bit more sharpening around the mid sections is in order, but thats what I get for posting at 2am!
Take care..

Thanks Barbara, there should be a tripod collor for your 170-500 so you can put the lens on the tripod and the camera just sits on the lens which is attached to the tripod. As for the 400mm lenses for canon, there are 4 in the premium class, the 400mm F/5.6 Is the very lite and priced resonably, the 100-400 Is a bit heavier as it has Image stablization, but is a nice zoom range to have, a bit more expensive, the lens I and Yamil Saenz use Is the 400mm F/4 DO, heavier and way over priced, but a great lens If not on a budget, then the super heavy super huge 400mm 2.8, this is a monster lens I would only recommmend to a pro sports shooter, Its so heavy it should have wheels :)...
I really do recommend the 400mm f/5.6 Its a great lens and very light, you can handhold it.
Take care......

:) WOW, another great shoot, I have the Sigma 170-500mm lens an it is so big I cant just put it on my tripod, because I think it is to heavy, and don't want to put all that pressure on my camera.
about the 400mm lens are there different types of 400mm lens or just one.
I love your photo's of the birds, excellent job.
