I like your b&w version, it sounds silly but I hadn't tried that.
I do have to say I took this with a Fuji FinePix 3megapixel long before I knew what I was doing technically. (way back in 2004 - hehe disclaimer)
Anyways, I did mess with the color in Photoshop (something I usually don't do) I can't remember why.... I think there was something funny about the original color. (The original is not on this computer sadly) Turning it into b&w fixes that quickly and it is probably more effective. Thanks for the comments! Much appreciated!

1st of all I welcome you and your hubby Spencer to UF... ;)
Welcome to the show... hehehe
I noticed you played with the colours and lord knows what else, but that 1/2 the fun of photography and PS...
Personally I didn't like the colours, but the comp, lighting, horizonal plain, cropping, highlights, shadows and softness is spot on... ;)

Good capture! I'd have preferred a little more contrast...or maybe you wanted it to look slightly washed out (?)Of course, without your "about" nobody would have had the slightest idea where this building was!!!!I'm impressed to find out that such a thing exists in Japan!

Lovely perspective, Anna, with subtle natural colouring and beautiful lighting. Did you notice how rare brick buildings are in Japan? It's because brick walls easily shake apart in a 'quake. Most of the modern "brick" buildings just have decorative tiles covering a concrete structure. This aqueduct may be a rare exception.

Thank you for your comment! It is nice to have feed back and constructive criticism. I enjoyed looking at your postings. I did try to bump the contrast a bit and mess with the color, but in both cases the bricks start to look a little surreal.

Anna, this is great capture, the composition and lighting is good showing deep into the aqueduct, slight blown out white on the third arch still very good. IMO I would try for a little contrast, brightness and possibly some saturation to bring out more color, I don't know, my opinions only.
