About This image (4366) was shot at Ballard's Matador restaurant on 15 April 2006.

This is a shot of a glass beer mug, handle facing towards and to the left, in a dark pub. The mug is backlit with a candle. In the upper left corner is some evidence of the pub's limited overhead lighting.

It has been slightly cropped and it has been shrunk and resized for upload. No other PS work was done.

Questions and comments are welcome.

Roger - That feller's havin' himself too much fun with his photo machine. You'd better take it away before he hurts hisself.

James, I feel like a Jack the Ripper, but I would crop this picture more, and put in Abstract project, because I think that this would be a wonderful abstract!
Sorry, I'll try to subdue myself of cutting in the futur ;-)
Greetings
R...

Joggie - Thank you. I really like back-lighting with candles. The lighting is subtle but you can get great color saturation out of subjects.

Anson - Thank you. As you can see I have a strong interest in abstracts. See you around.

A true abstract shot, James, with a great deal to explore in the beer mug itself, particularly the portion below the top that is lit by the candle. A little more light on the lower part somehow (pubs are notoriously dark) might give the viewer an idea of what they are looking at though. The glass of a mug could be of real visual interest if brought to light. (No pun). I think we need more of this sort of true abstractual photography here on UF. Well done. Anson
