About This week-end especially I have en-countered planes, cars, catapillars, bikes, etc.Tthe beach is just another road to escape the traffic ...or is it ? It looks like it now...but it also gets jamed up at times... is this normal in your home town ? Just curious.... Thank you for looking.

Lots of people drive on the beaches here John...There is no law against it...sometimes when the kids try to climb sand dunes in old pick up trucks then there are problems but mostly all is well and no one gets stuck - :))) Amazing I know I would not do it ...but 'Oregonians ' they are a different breed of people -ha!! Very hearty and have other different ways too:)

Thank You for your funny but great comment my dear friend...
I am a bit behind and will catch up asap ...( as soon as possible)))) Please forgive my tardiness...I am working a LOT !!!!!!!
Hugssss,
Michele~

Good Morning Michele! :)

Here's the short answer. You cannot do ANYTHING to a posted image. You CAN edit the data, like f/stop, shutter speed and about section.

Now some things for you to consider.

If you posted an image (say a nun feeding a sick child with the text that says 'feed the poor') that was great . . . and got a comment from (whoever) saying "This shot is great and I LOVE the well thought out point you've made . . . Way to go!" -- It would be unfair for you to pull the shot down, and add a swastica armband to the nun . . . and change the word feed to the word poison. Comments cannot be altered.

Also . . . removing the photo is not good either . . . since the critiques might be helpful to others . . . and if somebody was about to be awarded a Featured Critique for a well-thought out critique . . . it would be lost. Also, to discourage the removal, 10 points are deducted from your K-number if the image has been up for more than 5 or 10 minutes.

Your BEST option is to repost (as you will see from time to time) and add 'revised' or 'v2' and explain it in the about section. I have done this myself and a lot of others have too. After a considerable amount of time has passed . . . the image can be removed but I would avoid EVER removing an image with a featured critique under it . . . it's just not fair to the person who has put so much thought into a critique and it would be lost. So, re-post with changes and explain in the about section why you re-posted and what you changed. That's my advice.

Last - I will ALWAYS respond to direct questions and especially to you!
:)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Doyle, would You happen to know how to edit an image with-out totally removing it from it's comments ??? I tried and tried last night then just gave up. I did ask a few others and most everyone says they just pull their old shot and post a new one... I see the box that says 'edit image' but haven't figured out what to do with the hand after I get that far... I wanted to crop this shot like you suggested but didn't want to loose my comments... Maybe I just re-post the changes ? It's not your problem I know but if you know how to do this and can explain it to me I would appreciate it very much....( or send me to the right locale to read how) I read everything on FAQ .... no help but suggests I should be a ble to do it.

Thank you and I am not offended if you don't respond.

Best Wishes,
Michele~

Thank You Doyle good idea again... I will do this when I get back from my poker tournament !!!

I didn't think cars drove all over the beaches , they didn't when I lived in Santa Cruz... but then again..times do change , had to ask.
Thank you very much Doyle for the help and to view my pictures.
Always,
Michele~

Thank You Paul !

I have more pictures than I know what to do with from this warm long week-end. The key word is 'warm' cause we NEVER get warm on the coast here...

I always appreciate your kind comments (and your (un-kind ones) Just kidding !!
I know you say nothing at all rather than anything un-kind....

I am even level on the horizon is like a miracle happened !!! No kidding .
Thanks again my friend,
Michele~

Now that I look at it . . . I think a bottom crop (see attached) would make it MUCH more dynamic by taking the horizon line out of the center . . . just something to consider! :)

More Dynamic Example

Doyle D. Chastain Doyle D. Chastain   {K:101119} 9/4/2006
Good shot Michele. You could improve the composition a tad bit (IMO) by cropping out the people who are walking out of the picture . . . Otherwise . . . very scenic. Oh, and No cars on the LA beaches!

Another very impresive image of a very great composition, specially with this car out there on the beach, very well captured image and very well presented.

Wishing you all of the best my friend.
