Hi Anson. I have no secrets to share with you on getting ood orchid shots. We had a beautiful one here that stayed in bloom for months. I treid a number of times but was not happy with my shots. The best ones I got were holding a black cloth behind the blooms. This helped with the contrast of colours and eliminated anything in the room in the background that might be istracting. MAry

Thanks, Lynn, for your very strong compliment. I think I have finally learned how to control the color of the background to make it more muted and not so competing with delicate flowers, as are these. I love your very delicate photography. Anson

I keep trying to find new ways to shoot my small collection of orchids, Mary, but seem to keep coming back to a more conventional approach, as here, in order to show off their inate beauty. This little bouquet was awaiting us when we arrived from a 2 week vacation and I couldn't ignore it. You are right, orchids are difficult to do well. I have a dark pink, almost red, that I am still wrestling with. Any suggestions would be appreciated, Mary. Please give it some thought. Regards. Anson

I really like your angle for this shot. I have found it difficult to get good pictures of orchids. Your lovely picture shows their stripes and character so well. MAry
