Thanks Annemette . . . It's suprisingly not as large as a lot of cities . . . CERTAINLY small compared to LA . . . but very packed in. They have easy to navigate streets but for the one-way streets which may or may not alternate directions. But what a view!

Doyle I <~~~~~

Awesome view and clarity!! It looks like that itīs easy to find your way around the city, well at least from up there!
Take care,
Annemette

Thanks Bill! The windows here, rather than a flat window . . . are angled out in a triangular fashion . . . almost like a bay window! And the table was up against a . . . you guessed it . . . a handrail!! :) Very Dizz-i-fying (It's a technical term).

I appreciate your comments!!

Doyle I <~~~~~

I just love the perspective. Intensifies the feeling of height. Makes me want to grab for a hand rail.

Wow. Thanks Jacob! Since we agree I have to admit that that comment was 'Genius' level. You're so right about the rule of thirds and the saying that it was made to be broken (only by somebody who has demonstrated competence, of course) is perfectly (in our opinion) demonstrated here. Other components of this image . . . the white haze . . . building and islands and shore line all supply the tension that would prevent this shot from becoming too static! I thought there would be a lot of people commenting about the centered horizon and the only one who did points out that it doesn't matter in this case. You have a good eye my friend . . . and I appreciate the comment!

Hi Mary!

First (unrelated) -- how is it that you have no visible flag??

Second . . . Thanks so very much for your wonderful and constant support. It truly means a lot. The island you see center left is Alcatraz. The bay and to the right is Oakland. Across the San Francisco Bay is Marin County. To the left is the Golden Gate and the Pacific. The the photo doesn't show it all . . . it can all be seen from this seat . . . including Alcatraz, the Bay Bridge . . . and countless others. I would have taken a cell phone picture if that's all I had . . . Heheheheee but you know me . . . I had my Nikon!!
:)

While the horizon lays flatly centered in this photograph, the blue of the water is close enough to the water to give a good "R 'o' 1/3" impression. Also, to the upward spike of the prominent building creates good flow. I like it. And I'm not even a city person! :-D

I've certainly never seen anything like it- it is amazing. The height and the beauty. What a sky! So open and so much in it again- brilliant image Doyle.

Hey Ron! The Guiness Stout was superb. We skipped the restaurant for the cocktail lounge view North. I assume the food was good . . . :)

Hey Phillip!
No wind . . . the coastal cities (ON the water) seldom have any issues with air pollution. California has an onshore breeze most of the time. The breeze . . . 3 to 5 mph . . . was refreshing. Even here in L.A. . . . the coastal communities like Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach . . . even Lawndale . . . have almost NO pollution of the air. More unusual for San Francisco was the 78 degree F. temperatures and complete lack of fog! It was gorgeous! :)

Another stunning view shot, Doyle! Was there a wind blowing? I see there is virtually no pollution. Most unusual for cities, these days!

Well captured, mate! A beauty!

Cheers

Phil
