Vaya ojazos y ¡vaya retrato!

Beautiful image and awsome catchlights in the eyes. I'm totally in support of photographing children however they look best (and most adorable...I have to though, as a teacher I sometimes need to be reminded of how "cute" they can be when I'm exposed to the "other side" so often at work!).

Wonderful photography!

Keep 'em coming! :-D

Thanks Sue; it´s an interesting debate how to take pictures of children and i really appreciate the critic by Gal and your comment. The strange texture on the forehead is a subtle scar (more visible in color version). Thanks again...jd

I usually like to see a child at eye level too, BUT, the eyes are the subject. The chosen perspective, along with the DOF fall off on the forehead and chin enhances and grabs the viewer's eye and heart. The expressiveness is clearly captured. Wonderful toning and lighting as well. My only nit is that the DOF on the forehead creates a strange texture to the skin. A beautifully emotive capture nonetheless.

Gracias Luis.

Okay, I love it...the intensity of the beautiful dark eyes, reflecting several people, I see. For me, very beautiful and moving, JD.

Hello Txules. Technically, I have nothing but praises for the quality of the lens used and also for your b&w conversion technique, together with the pp work on his/her eyes. I'm a bit deceived by the way you chose to photograph your subject though. i'm not personally very fond of these kind of point of view, where you look at children from above, making them lift their eyes in a sort of imploring/admiring/submitted way. Then there's the lack of context in your photograph. Ok, she's cute. But every child in the world is cute. What else can we learn from Madagascar, from her life, from the link that took you to take her photograph? Nihil. Sorry, doesn't really work for me. Filling the frame with a cute face isn't quite enough to make a good photograph. Hope this doesn't sound to harsh. Just expressing my personal opinion as honestly as I can.

Cheers
