LOL-- well, walking the hills in SF, it can certainly FEEL like nine miles!! You took a fantastic shot... I showed it to my co-worker, who grew up in SF, and he said he had never seen a photo of Lombard Street shot from the Coit Tower, and he, too, was very impressed.
I hope that you and your hubby had a good time here. You both took some fantastic photos...

Christine, I have corrected my distance. What I had originally used was the map from the hotel, which even though it gave a legend, apparently, it was not correct....thank goodness I was not depending on it for walking distance.

I love the shot. It's a great capture of the city and that funny little street.
I also really like how because of the fact you're pretty far away, the perspective is different, and it makes everything look like it's a miniature. Great job!;)

Thank you Christine. My estimate is based on a map of San Francisco that was given to my by the hotel and one from the airport. Looks like I have some research ahead of me. Did not take pictures inside the tower, however, I have an great shot outside the tower of Columbus, the American Flag and Alcaltraz all in one.

Thank you Bruce. The buildings along the road are actually houses of people that just laugh at all the tourist going down.

Beautiful shot, Marlyce. I love how the lens compressed the street (the crookedest in the world!!)... your estimate is a bit off, however. San Francisco is only 7 x 7 miles.... such a small city, so many hills! (I used to live there and I still work there...)
This is one of the better shots of Lombard that I've seen... good vantage point! (I hope you got some good pics of the murals in Coit Tower... they are so beautiful..)

Nice shot of a famous street Marlyce. Interesting to see the buildings surrounding it too, I wonder how the residents feel when hollywood comes to town?
