Indeed the reflected background does look better than the background, both in colour and in terms of complexity. I really like the composition, it highlights the strengths of the photo (the boat and reflection.) The boat itself is also well captured, good exposure, even the left side of the boat shows some detail and colour. Focus is good with sharp edges down the length of the boat.
As mentioned some darkening and contrasting would help the lighting a bit. Another idea might be to tint the photo to some monochrome colour. I tried B&W but it was not great. Sepia was quite good, the boat stood out better from the background and the reflections remained.
I reckon it is a good shot, well done (thanks for your comments on my It Could Be An Advert photo.)

Thanks to the comments recieved. I have tried a re-crop and a slight darkening as has been suggested by several. I think it is an improvement, although I have lost some resolution! Mark.

Good capture, but would have cropped it more from the bottom, there is the undefined reflection of a house (?) that is not needed in this photo..
