This is such a striking image. To see the number of figures and the different directions. And the lighting- wonderfully atmospheric image Annemette.

But they also added some smoke and sth. more for this scene- it looked just astonishing when opening up Helhjem full of ice. I donīt know why the underworld is cold and damp in Nordic Mythology- probably because a warm place like the Christian Hell sounds good when living in a cold part of the world:-)

Hel is the ruler of Helhjem- the place where all the people go to that didnīt die a herotic dead. I added some blur to make it even more soft and dreamy. Take care, Annemette

It has a very dreamy touch as the whole scene is soft focused but nonetheless *with* selective focusing of the... Queen of hell (?) and the... small devils? Was that dry ice or is that your setting that caused that nice softness? A very nice scene.
Greetings to all gods, devils, trolls, witches, and the whole nordic gang :-)
Take care,
Nick
P.S.: Even hell bent, hell bent for leather!
(With all apologies to Judas Priest ;-))

Dear Paul The underworld is a slimy, cold, damp place ruled by Hel whoīs partly dead, partly alive. This is the place where all the people that didnīt die in glory in the battle go. Thanks for stopping by! Best wishes, Annemette

Interesting. So, in Nordic myth, is the Underworld hot or cold?
