Anita......Selective Desaturation.....a tool that allows you to remove the colour of selected areas is one way. Another would be create a copy in B&W and then cut and paste a colour selection into the image as a new layer. Experiment!

Jan, quite correct it was natural lighing but in hindsight a little flash would have helped fill in their faces.......

Cathy 12-11-13 are their ages in that order, the two on the right are siblings by birth, while Aidan (left) is by marriage. It is a fun age and I am trying to enjoy as much of them as possible. The one aspect of approaching winter will be skiing with them as they just started last year and loved it.

I have always enjoyed selective colouring as it can make a simple picture very dramatic. I am glad you enjoyed it.

What beautiful children! Josh always did call them 'The Twins' My question is , how did you get the children in black and white and the painting in colour? I did say I had a lot to learn. I love the picture. Cheers, AES

Love the selective colour. What a healthy radiant family! What are their ages? The two on the right are the same height-same age? I'm off to bed, its 2 am. We've just got in from the second night of the local theatrical performance of "The King and I" directed by my husband and starring (in her first romantic lead) our youngest daughter, who is making the audience cry! Only three weeks of the season to go! I need sleep. CC
