A very impressive shot, Larry!!!Awesome capture of that paddle wheel "spitting" water so beautifully! The whole series of the TallStacks is very interesting! It must be a terrific occasion for a photographer! I envy you this chance!

Yes, Larry, I believe you know I agree with you completely about photography being an artform, and about how some really poor quality photos can have a wonderful emotional impact...and vice versa...a technically good photo can be boring.

There is more clarity on the paddlewheel ...however IMHO it detracts from the mood of the overall composition...I'm not being intentionally argumentative here. Photography is to a large degree an artform, therefore feeling & emotion play a large role in the final result, more so than technical accumen. I've seen and I'm sure you have to really crappy technical photos that are very emotional and convey their intention very strongly. I like the photo as is.

Boy you're tough...IMHO you're totally wrong on this one...the softness of the paddle really adds to the overall feeling of the compostion...the highlight is the water and it was sharpened...any more and the water stands out way to much...other than that I don't have an opinion

A beautiful capture, Larry! I might go over this side of the paddle wheel with the (in my program) contrast brush, and the image overall may need a little sharpening...;)

Larry, nice action shot! We have paddle steamers that tour up and down the Murray River along the border on Victoria and New South Wales, I have seen them every now and then and love to watch the paddles churning up the water. They are so powerful and you have captured that feel here. I like the light on the water and your ability to catch these fast moving wheels is excellent.
