About
This is my first visit to Hanging Rock asince the massive Blossom Complex fire of 2005. The damage was less than I had envisioned. The trees on 'the rock' were not damaged much because they sit on the edge of a 100 foot cliff. I took this photo while sitting on the large boulder outcrop you see in the "Fogbow" photo. You are viewing towards the trail opening to this wonderful viewpoint that overlooks the Rogue Wilderness in southern Oregon. The top of the trail sustained some fire damage, but it actually opened up the valley view. It will 'green' back up in a few years.
I was sitting on this outcropping to take this particular shot. (Guess why they call this Hanging Rock? it's a looooong ways down ) Anyway... all you see here was untouched by the fire.
