Love the colors here but do think that isolating a unique feature and working on an interesting compositional angle would have been even more superb. This does seem to cry out for some filters to experiment with . . . especially polarized and UV. Your portraits are great but I think you'd be good at this too.

Sorry to disagree but I like your portraits a lot more than this one. This scene is lackluster and the shot is banal. I'm no Ansel Adams or Jack Dykinga but good landscapers don't take a shot unless the scene is stunning in some way, either with brilliant colors, interesting perspective or some main point to be emphasized in the photo. A suggestion for improvement may be to focus in on one subject rather than a whole disorganized scene with a dock on one side trees in the middle and the shack on the other side. Maybe a reflection shot only of the dock will give the photo a more interesting focus.

Very nice effect with the reflection off the water. The only thing I might of done different would be to crop the shore line off and the sky off. I do not know if you have much experience working with filter, this is a shot that is begging for experimentation with different filters such as different polarizers, graduals, and sunset filters. Keep 'em coming and stay away from the firemen!
