Spike - named after the Billy Idolesque character in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. Shot with bounce flash, converted to b&w, contrast and burning of edges in PSP. Trying to get the cats to stay still long enough to shoot is surprisingly complicated, given that their normal state is "asleep".
Thanks, A.J. - I appreciate the critique on this and the other images you commented on. I have attached the original of this one. I quite liked the lighting effects from the bounce flash, but the background provided some challenges. I think you are right that the area around the top of his head is a bit dark and could be done differently.
PSP - I quite like it - a full-featured graphics program without Photoshop's price tag. I probably don't use it to capacity, but it does what I want it to do.
Lovely petrait, and your about made me laugh. Good to see another PSP user, though I feel the effect around the top of the head looks just a little artificial.
