I love it for the depth you have captured sweet Robin. The main focus is on the Autumnal coloured leaves but we still get to enjoy aspects of the background tones and details. The only time I have ever had a vignette was by using a wide aperture and the wrong lenshood:) I wouldn't know how to set about it in PS but I think you are right to experiment. Well done to you my dear friend, I shall reply to 'e' later today. My very best wishes as always, thinking of you, big hugs......RayX;)

I love the mood you create with this photo and very much like the vignetting. it may be a bit too dar as suggested by Doyle but still very effective in guiding the viewer's eye and dropping out distraction. Well done.
--Best to you, Jan

That was quick! I wanted to do a "drive-by" post, but you were quick to comment and now I have to reply!
Landscapes are not my forte...but ya gotta break away from time to time, right? Yes on the post-editing...playing around, sometimes I can't resist. Your points are well taken my friend, I DO value your opinion. Pleased to hear there are some aspects you like...thank you!

Take care...Robin

Hey Robin!

I like this image and the composition. Originally, I was thinking the horizon line was canting just a bit counter-clockwise . . . but I think thats more than likely to be untrue after looking at the tree trunk . . . and, of course, there's no way to know for sure whether or not there is a slant on the land . . . but I DO know that a clockwise tilt to correct for any PERCEIVED tilt would look much more out of place since it would throw a serious angle onto the trunk of the tree. So well done on the horizon line.
I like the focus, color and DOF . . . but the vignetting . . . post-editing without a doubt . . . is a tad too dark for my taste . . . I'd like to see a more subtle use of it, though I DO think it's a GREAT way to pull the viewer's eye into the composition. Too dark tends to become too distracting (IMO). All-in-all; I'd say this was a well done faux-minimalist (Yeah, I invented that term) composition which is evocative of the season. :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~
