About My mother had a brief stint with me here in Minneapolis. We spent some time taking pictures of her during a beautiful autumn afternoon in the autumn of her life. She should be returning soon. This was one intentional portrait of this larger-than-life person who has influenced me so greatly.

then the message came through clearly, Ray. That is the way that I look at my mother. She is bigger than life itself. She is life.

the angle of this portrait reminds me of my mother, the looking up with reverence and pride. her looking down with wisdom, strength, compassion and understanding. great job one of my favorites.

This is simply magnificent. Melanie has put it into words so eloquantly. The perspective and the colours are very appealing. Well done. CC

Oh, and aside from all the I mentioned previously.... this is also very well done, technically! Great focus, DOF, bokeh and exposure!

Wow! What an amazing portrait! I cannot believe this photo has not recieved more attention!

First of all, the colors are gorgeous and are very fitting for the season. Everything from the leaves in the background, that fill the frame so nicely, to the tone of her skin and the color of her sweater all harmonize so well!

I love the perspective, it definitely makes this an interesting and creative portrait. I also think that this perspective gives the photo that "larger-than-life" feel that you describe because you are looking up to her rather than directly at her, head on, or down on her.

Then there is her face. A face of wisdom and character. So much to be seen in her expression, her eyes and in every well earned line and wrinkle on her face.

Really excellent, Luke! I love unique and interesting portraits, and this is definitely one of them!

Elle est très belle cette photo...pleine de douceur et de mélancolie..l'angle de la prise de vue augmente l'impact émotionnel de la photo.

Bravo à toi

Luke-- fresh and unique POV for the portrait of your mother; she gives off powerful vibes and this is a wonderful way to see and show her. Excellent color range and exposure along with the special viewpoint.
--Best to you, Jan

An interesting POV. Beautiful portrait with a super bokeh. Sure does represent autumn. Well done, regards Ron.
