Oh goodness! I am so sorry for not replying sooner!!! I am such a slacker when it comes to that! Honest, I can go for years (as evidenced here) before replying. You are right to every comment. A Canadian what likes Yanks?... thank you. We really are not that bad. And I do like you folks, also. Interesting about the check thing... buying votes... My intention in this shot was to show where the process begins... the regular folk down the street. Seatonville has 250 residents... and 125 of them vote. The 125 who do not vote are not elligible. Geesh, Terry... what a grand comment and such... again, I am sorry I did not get back to you sooner.
Hehe! I love the American people Jim. There's nobody more down to earth, friendly and fair than most people in these small US towns.
What worries me is the the fact that something like 70% of the young people who go to vote in the big cities (the Liberals) have absolutely no idea who they're going to vote for when they walk through the door on election day. "It's all about me."
They don't even follow politics or world events, yet they're being encouraged to vote. The Democrats want to lower the voting age for this very reason.
It's the same in Canada, if not worse. It's like they vote for the last TV commercial they saw that day, if they can even be bothered. They have no idea of the import of their decision, nor do they care.
In the last Canadian election, the Liberals mailed out millions of $25.00 cheques 2 days before election day. Go figure. There's democracy at work.
