About Patricia Walden is my yoga teacher in the United States. This photograph was taken at her birthday celebration. She is 60 years young.

Because it was shot with flash and otherwise terrible lighting, I have done extensive post processing work in PS. I was aware of the technical limitations, so I concentrated on capturing the joy and expressive way Patricia projects when she teaches.

Thanks for viewing. Comments and critiques very much appreciated. :)

Such a pleasant view of a lovely lady! I love the apparent movement of her hands, and her smile is so genuinely happy!

Sixty years young is so right! You certainly have captured such spirit- the joy and enthusiasm very well portrayed.

Hey, thanks Joggie.

I have been so busy teaching, have not had time to do photography. Hopefully soon. I really miss posting and spending the time to view the work of all my friends...:)

Have a wonderful holiday!

Expression of joy for sure - my first thought when opening the image! Your info describes it very well. Often the subject and what it conveys is much more powerfull than the technical shortcomings. This surely is one such case! Thanks for sharing Andree!

You did manage to save that natural expression . . . and a lovely one too . . . the artistic work (I think) might have been less distracting if it included her hands since you end up with two disconnected focal points . . . I'm thinking lose the clarity there (hands) and all focus will be drawn to where you want the focus at anyway. Just a thought for you to consider . . . but bravo for saving the shot . . . It was certainly worth saving.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~
