Taken at WatsonVille Airshow in Summer of 1998. Watsonville is near Monterey California. I painfully removed the yellow rope around the plane using stamping tool in PS. I decided not to remove the human beings around the plane as it was more tedious and error prone.
This particular picture speaks of stark contrast difference between red plane and the blue sky..
The subject is interesting and the instinct to use the contrast between red and blue is good, but the composition is cluttered. You've got the horizon running right through the wings and a parking lot full of vehicles in the background, aside from the guy with the tripod on one side and other distractions. The harsh mid-day light isn't doing anything for the image either.
So what to do in this situation?
In my opinion, trying to clone out the distractions is a losing battle, as you yourself say.
You could decide to photograph something else.
You could see if you can come at a different time of day when you might be able to get a better angle with fewer distractions.
You could photograph details on the plane. If you want a red/blue composition, try for a low angle so you only get the plane and the sky. Look at the background and try to simplify the relation between figure and ground. Pay attention to clouds as well--they can help or hurt the composition.
Now, about your spam problem. If you want people to critique your images, try leaving substantial critiques on other people's images, and in many cases, they will respond in kind. You don't have to post a request--"Please look at this image and tell me what you think!" and you don't have to post links to the images in your responses either in the image galleries or in the forums. Be patient.
Also, don't leave one-line responses that bury the more serious critiques. That devalues the site for everyone.
Your composition and selection of bright colours are excellent. Using poloriser has really enhanced the picture and I like the contrast Red and blue sky with almost white floor. Just felt if you had the front view of the plane it would be better. A V Bhaskar-India
