Karen, the composition is stunning, and the bright light works very nicely. There is one difficulty I have, and it very likely is my monitor: The very intense red background (which is quite striking) blows me away...my eye is pulled to where there is more visual distinction between the red background and green leaves. It is much harder to focus on the blooms because I have to work harder to distinguish the blooms from the background. That, combined with the structure of the flowers themselves, makes this image seem bottom heavy.
That said, let me add that this is absolutely beautiful. I'd love to shoot something this stunning. And perhaps the elements I noticed were part of your intent. It would be interesting to know.
