Awesome pof and dof dear Jessie and sharp as a razor all round the head area. The details are wonderful and the tones beautiful. It is always the same when we need to re-act quickly to capture a shot, something else gets in the pic. Well done to you sweetie. All the best.....Ray;)

Hey Jessie . . . well . . . the DOF didn't blur the wire QUITE enough (IMO) on this shot. I prefer the posted though both are ok . . . the posted is more artistically qualified (just my thought). Love what you've been doing lately with that camera! :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

thanks, doyle, you give the best advice. i am always learning - a good thing! :) i didn't even see that other chicken's red until you pointed it out. sheesh! i must be extra-tired. what do you think of this one? i only took 3 pix, before the dogs ran up and scattered the chickens. :)

LoL! " . . . with a cluck-cluck here and a cluck-cluck there, here a cluck, there a cluck, everywhere a . . . " Oh, you get it. I happen to have a (whispers) 'cluck cluck' . . . so much like this one that they could be sisters. And a fresh brown egg or two every morning too!
In my opinion, the composition could be strengthened in a variety of ways . . . this feels a tad bit too static for my taste. The head seems close to centered but even though it's not, it's facing out of and not into the shot. That type of change (of course) can't be done after the shot . . . I mention it as something to consider when composing the shots 'in-camera'. Also, there seems to be somebody's "comb-over" intruding in the lower right foreground . . . a candidate for either cloning or an ever so slightly higher crop.

The subject is well considered and interesting . . . and the play of light and dark is being accomplished quite well. The DOF and focal clarity on the head is perfect. Nicely done!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~
