Thanks, Gabriela, for this and all other kind comments. It's a funny coincidence, but we watched the movie just yesterday night on TV. We had guests, so I recorded it, and after the last guests left and most of the homework was done, my wife and I sat down and didn't go to sleep until the end. So fascinated we were. And the thought that the insect we saw on our walk was the same as in the movie is challenging enough, except that it was not a cricket but a grasshopper;)

Superb macro, Markus!!! Wow! and the background enhances beautifully the green of the cricket. For me it is an image full of connotations - I'm thinking of the movie "The Last Emperor" and the small wooden cage with a cricket he had received as a little boy. Before dying he found the cage with the cricket in it - still alive - on a visit to the Throne Hall in the Forbidden City of communist China. Do you think THIS one might be the same cricket???????????? A challenging thought!

Nice macro, Markus! You had to go a long way to get this one! Great detail and colour though, and I'll be interested to see more of the Buddah statues.
