Hi Susie. I really don't know what causes the colour. The white around shore is very silty (not sand), but there are no active glaciers that flow into this little lake. Could be spring fed? Thankfully I was driving my own truck, so I could spend more time there (and have a picnic by it!) Thanks for the comment. Cheers, Gary

Awesome colour ~ very aptly named lake.. is this from glacial silt? I think I'd have wanted to stay there much longer than 5 minutes ~ great shot Gary :)

Hi Gary,I have seen this place also, called Emerald Lake, it's really as on your picture!! This unusual composition is so great! You have captured it so well. It's a pity when people have not more time to look at this beautiful landscape. Therefore I never want to do holiday trips with buses. Best regards to you,Nicole:) 7+++

Hi Christian. sadly, on the right hand side, there is a road just off the edge of this picture as well, the lake kind of pinches out there too. Thanks for the comment. Cheers, Gary

Great one here. The hues and the curves are very strong elements. The low light coming from the right is doing wonders on the trees. Have you had the cance to take more on the righthand side ?

Wow, Elisa... well, if you want snow, we have lots to spare here!! even had a bit of a cold snap too. I know what you mean about the dark though. We've a bit more daylight than that, but not much. Cheers, Gary :-)

We have no snow ... very exceptional this time of the year (5 degrees warmer than normally) ... the days are SO short (today for instance 5 hours 54 mins to be exact, LOL), SO dark! Christmas lights are needed, for sure :)

Hi Dave... ya, I've always liked those curving shoreline pics. this one was a bit tougher as I wasn't really high enough up and there were too many trees and a highway just off the edge of the pic! Thanks for the comment. Cheers, Gary
oh ya, it's not really a white sand beach either... just a light coloured mud (as I found out... hahaha)

Excellent composition, Gary, with the shoreline meandering through the photograph. You are so right, it does look like the Carribean. I love the green water outlined by the white beach!
Best wishes, Dave
