You nearly had me on the first paragraph of the about :) I think maybe you better lay off the Clive Cussler novels for a while. (hope you get the reference)
If not Cussler writes novels like "Inca Gold" where the hero is an Indiana Jones sort of character. The first paragraph sounded very much like what he might have gotten into.
As far as the image is concerned... a nice job of getting so much beautiful clear detail out of what something difficult to make interesting. The blue hue of the light coming through makes the shot, and you used it to good advantage.
It reminds me of what I did recently with the light coming through the window in that old shack. A little light shining through like this can make a huge difference in an image.

Holey Moley Kes ! that looks really nice and BIG too... I like gold nuggests.. I have a few saved... Yes prospecting for Gold is fun !! I enjoy it too! Playing around in the dirt and water and finding real treasure is always FUN, Fun , FUN !

Hope you kept some nuggets, Michele - spot gold price is up a bit! I had the gold bug during the late 80's - went prospecting with a buddy quite a bit. We never found much color anywhere but it was fun.

My family and I had a jewelry bussiness in Auburn , Ca, for almost 10yrs... *80's - 90-s .... We majored in gold nuggets... from the American river... where gold was first founded, and 3rd. in Sapphire's !!@!
