Hi Bill!
Indeed I assure the aperture is correct. The flowers are very small.. mini blooms, not large roses at all, which might explain the deceptive DOF. Had the roses been larger, the shallow DOF would have been more apparent.

Hi Aniko, I came here because I was reading your comment and work on the zipper on Klaus Kraigers' black and white portrait of a lady.....the zipper did bother me (yesterday) but I let it go.....you have done well, it's an improvement......your work is very powerful.....what you are able to extract form an image in anothers hands is just a photograph (imao!)and Gentle Pain has a such an air about it......a well executed composition. kind regards, david.

I had seen the movie a long while back and then someone gifted me with the set of books... I actually could not read them... I felt the same "depression" oozing from them and didn't feel like being depressed.... LOL! :)

I told you I would eventually get around to posting more images from the flowers in the cupboard shoot! :) (Sounds a bit like "Flowers in the Attic"... lol! Even as macabre perhaps as that movie...)
The light was wonderful, and yet the tones were too similar to that of the first image I posted. I felt this image needed "something". So I played in PS to achieve this somewhat "sorrowful feel" result. But I think I like it.

I was in two minds whether I should post this . I worked on it for quite some time to get it "satisfactiry" (to any extent).
Then I noticed that I had (without any deliberate attempt) cropped this image to exactly a sqaure... unintentional... and that seemed like a go ahead to post it... I don't know why.
Perhaps I am superstitious! LOL!
