Thanks and nice to hear from you Aram :) Your readings are always amazing :) Toronto is my new location, I'm not familiar with it except some streets, and I'm just starting to make some sense of it all. I'm finding these 60-80's concrete giants fascinating for the time being. There is also new construction everywhere, glass & steel...

Welcome back Dear Ina!

Is this eye-catching B/W a souvenir from a trip to 22nd Century?! Such captures remind us how the City is evolving toward a "collage" of styles and coexistance of shapes. The absence of human silouhettes and the black sky give some post-nuclear-war feeling that emphasizes the collage.

So happy to have you back, best wishes for the new year and for your new home town.

Thank you so much Mark for your in-depth critiques. I haven't used the camera in a long time and Toronto is a new city for me. This is an odd view, since it's the off-site of the City Hall, which usually steals the show with its tall twin towers. There is a lot of grey concrete, flag poles, traffic, etc. and the wide spaces between buildings are somewhat of a challenge for composition. There are a lot of opportunities for photography though, as Andre mentioned, if one can get there - and spend some time getting to know the places :)

Bravo! This is the sort of high contrast geometric effect I was thinking of in my comment on your other B&W shot in this series. It almost looks like scattered pieces of a 3D puzzle! And the contrast and retro toning bring a sort of 60's film look to the shot that seems to enhance the subject matter and it's scattered geometry look. Yet in spite of the scattered nature of the "pieces" the perspective (nicely enhanced by short focal length) brings all the pieces together in a harmony of thematic movement toward the left. This is a very, very good work Ina, one of your very best IMHO, and one I'd love to have hanging on my wall, something I rarely say. Perhaps my fave of yours since the Brooklyn Bridge shot I loved! Fabulous!

Very best,
Mark

Ina,

Another nice perspective on this BLDG...but I think the other one is the stronger of the two...but this does give a different perspective on the BLDG ...and a lot of shapes...

Best Wishes,
Chuck

Wonderful feel of geometry and a beauty of the simple lines and forms in this abstracted view of the fameous TO architecture. Ina I'm glad you are back on UF with your great passion to picture your vicinity and interpret relations between common elements in your great style.
Cheers, NJ

Hi Ina! A very dynamic architectural scene; certainly not the typical cityscape shot! Well done!
