composition: i like the square format, and it fits well the cityscape here, but i also think that a vertical format could avoid the highlights on top left. If you crop that part i personally think that the overall effect is much better.
Good use of lines, well combined the vertical and horizontal ones.
lighting: very difficult conditions well managed. i can not think about other better ways to manage it, apart from the choice of cropping the area out of dynamic gamma
originality/emotional appeal: these sceneries have a scent of past, of timeless mood. the blue curtain helps identifying a human presence.

If you look further past the textures, there are some interesting repetitive shapes: arches, rectangles, squares, converging lines. Very interesting blend of elements, plus a special old world mood permeates throughout.

la tua tecnica mi stupisce ogni volta, come fai con quella scatoletta dalla messa a fuoco improbabile... nitidezza e bilanciamento dell'esposizione... il formato quadrato poi la fa sembrare scattata con una 6x6. Proprio per pretendere l'impossibile mi sarebbe piaciuto di più se ci fosse una tenda rossa, per ravvivare il colore un po' in tono minore della scena.

Very good photo. You kept detail in both sunlit and shadow area's. The image makes one wonder who might be coming down these stairs. The bit of blue in the curtain give variation.
