Thanks Samuel for posting these three pictures of flowers. Also I thought James's comments were very helpful to anyone going to try photographing flowers.

A little soft at the edges of the flower. In this genre the flower needs to be either sharp as a tack or if soft, soft for a reason. And obviously soft for that reason. Use a wide angle lens for closeups like this. Or tubes. This is one rerason I use a view camera.
