About A more or less simple branch grows more or less uniformly simple until at some point... subbranching occurs that converts the simplicity to self similar complexity.

The analogy to some cellular automata in mathematics seems to be evident. Many of those automata evolve regularly up to some point and then just out of nothing the unexpected happens. And just a tiny small deviation is enough to cause a huge difference at some later point, which doesn't seem related to that deviation at all.

As about the photo itself, perhaps more sharpness for the branch could make it better?

Architectural stairs

... and double galaxies...

Clockwise from green to yellow

The light will do the rest

The wind will take them away

A bridge in snow

Night shifters on the passing by

A lake of lights

The nature compliant building

Poor hydra

Thank you for the nice co0mment, Mike!

And of we dig a bit deeper we can see that all that diversity is produced by some few simple and crystal clear laws. Now, *that* I call a surprise!

Cheers,

Nick

The about really makes me think about nature in general. How different and unique every item is.

Perhaps, Arvin my friend, perhaps! After all, why should anything be straightened to some kind of "horizon"?

Many thanks and best wishes,

Nick

So that's what I also thought about, Mike! Next time the whole branch shoud be in sharp focus.

About the about (what an expression! ;-)) what kind of thoughts did you have, if I may ask?

Thank you very much and best wishes,

Nick

maybe tilt the camera to give it some eye movement in the image.

I agree with the sharpness of the branch.
the further down on the iamge you go, the less sharp and details the branch gest.
Really interesting about. Made me think for a few!
