About Taken in the early morning at Dewey beach, DE. This is a closeup of the transition between ocean and sand: the white on the top is the surf as it hits in about 1/100th of a second. Orange filter used to heighten contrast, some slight burning in of sand during processing.

Robert,

My Name is Ed Babcock and I am new to the USEFILM.com site. I recently got a response from you on my first uplooad "Dreamy Bend". I did use photoshop to accentuate the dark and light. I like for many of my photos to have some "drama". I think that it is evocotive for the view. Since I am new to the Site, I could not figure out how to respond back to your question, so I went you your site and am using the comment function to aswer your question. I reviewed a number of your photos and find a real affinity for what you are doing in Black and White. I really like your work. This picture is one of my favorites. I would like to work more in B&W, but I have yet to be really satisfied with how my digital camera records/converts to black and white.

Keep up the good work.

Ed

P.S. How do I respond to comments/questions that come to me from viewers like you. Did I miss something?

Fantastic shot! I like the motion at the top and the warm tone at the bottom. Very well done here. Cheers! Sam

I tend to agree with sept about the whole branch but otherwise - this is a wonderful photo - simple

deceptively simple...

I really like the minimal composition and the whiteness of the sea foam draws the eye into the photo. Very elegant.
