The water is almost a mirror consisting of ice in a superb toning, Collin! I am amazed also about the sharpness andthe detail on the wooden planks of the pier. Again silence and a great capture that we definitely don't see every day.
Best wishes,
Nick

I was standing up to my knees in the pacific ocean on Rarotonga (Cook Is) having just arrived at 5.00am the day we left Sydney at 2.00pm (its an international date line thing) havin a beer (as you do) n chattin to a bloke who flew over on the same plane with us from NZ where he lives.. seems he played Aussie Rules for Jannalli High against CHS in the years I was in the team ... all that way amazing .. the world IS a small place.. keep up the good work

Hi Doyle, thanks very much for commenting. Just to clarify, the light at the end of the pier is a lamp. I was disappointed when it came on mid exposure but I think it still looks ok. When I mentioned vignetting I meant physical vignetting - at 11mm you can see the filter holder through the lens which is why I filed it down. Thanks again, Collin.

Collin I love it. I see a bright light at the end of the pier - a round white disk you indicate could NOT be the sun . . . though it seems like it may be . . . if it's either the sun (or the moon) I would recommend NOT letting it be partially obscured . . . a half step right shoud do nicely . . . or totally block it with the post. Oh, by the way . . . Personally, I don't mind the vignetting for some shots and it would not have hurt here (IMO) . . . but the perspective here is great and the mood of the shot is super tranquil. This is very nice work!
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~

Wow, the colours here are very pleasing, and the composition is magical. I love the stillness of the water and the reflection of the pier at the end. Very tranquil. CC
