Dear Patrick, after reading this you MUST join http://www.iorr.org for MAJOR discussions on Le Stones (and everything else under the sun) It's a European Stones fan club (out of Norway run by General BV - the Hated One - who interferes once in a great while when we hijack a thread. He doesn't wanna hear about Mick Taylor OR GWB) It's actually a great site that's wild as hell and I'm sure you would enjoy it. There's a big gang on there from the UK as well as tons from the USSA, the rest of Europe, South America, etc. Check it out (the "Tell Me" Section) and tell me what you think. Like any good Stones fan I've been blocked numerous times and finally booted off but I'm back with a new user name once again adding to the discourse. BTW, Stones doing a summer European tour starting in a few months - dates should be up shortly. It's Only Rock and Roll, Mark PS. Yeah, '69 was great but I was such a kid that I didn't quite "get it", I wondered why the songs sounded SO different then the record versions (too much ED SULLIVAN watching me thinks). The Shame is MIDNIGHT RAMBLER was definitly the highlight of the show (along with STRAY CAT and SYMPHATHY) but never made it to the film GIMME SHELTER) Would love to have the ENTIRE Madison Square Garden Show on DVD but don't see THAT happening....

WOW! That was the 'Get Yer Ya Ya's Out!' tour! The Stones are a MAJOR influence in my life... they would have been the first band I saw back in 1982, but after saving up for a ticket they sold out and I had to wait another 8 years to catch a gig. The gig I wanted to go to was at Wembley Stadium, the famous highlight of which was Keef punching Ronnie Wood in the face because he'd fallen asleep onstage and had ballsed up the intro to 'Honky Tonk Women'... ROCK, and indeed, ROLL. In addition to my Bobby Z. story, I once sang 'Happy Birthday' to Keef after an X-Pensive Winos solo show in... hmm, 1992. He laughed like a drain and gave me a big hug. He smelt of musk and other exotic spices... he was a gent. When he came out of the backstage door I swear there was an aura about him... a tangible energy that was extraordinary. I've met a lot of famous musicians as I used to work in radio, so it wasn't a case of being starstruck. Some people just have 'it', and Keef had (has) 'it' in spades... I wish I could have seen them in '69 though... unfortunately I was about 2 months old at the time. A child of the '60s, just...

....ah yes, November 8th, 1969....A very young whipper snapper named Mark sits inside the LA Forum Arena with his very young school friends and a Dad as one Mick Jagger appears on stage in all black and a LEO symbol on his long sleeved black T - shirt. Being hours late Mr Jagger says "Well awright..... We would have brought our toothbrushes if we'd known" as he fiddled with his "Uncle Sam American Flag Top Hat".....the band kicks into Jumpin' Jack Flash as Jagger leaps about the stage and let's us know "JJF is a gas, gas, gas" - my young brain can't take it all in......... A date burned into my memory forever. A great concert and a great shot you have here Patrick... BTW, that was the first show, the second one finished up around dawn on the 9th - true story.......

Yup, no photoshop used other than curves etc. Just natural layer upon natural layer, peeling away... natural layers are far more interesting, I think, than computer generated ones!

seriously!!! what a great find. I thought it might have been something that you put together, because at first look, that what it seems like. Either way it is a great shot, and I really like the composition.
