Thank you Kim for your critique. I've always loved the vibrancy of this photo but I do agree more of a blur and a smaller DOF would bring more attention to the Bee and less to the grass. Thank you very much for your input:)
I think you have good detail on the bee but the one thing that is bothering me about the image is that it's really busy with the lines of grass and the overpowering flower colours throughout.
Perhaps if you could blur the background a little more, either with a longer lens, different DOF, or photoshop (grin) it would create more focus on the bee itself.
Having followed quite a few insects around myself, I know how hard it can be to get a nice sharp shot, but you've managed that, and done a good job.
