You crazy Oxforder!*LOL* Well, may I say in front of the crowd that I´m very thankful for this award given to me by the wellknown and sophisticated photographer Patrick Crowther. I shall cherish it and may I also thank by father and mother and the UF-people that gave me the opportunity to stand here today;-) An award! Even in green that I adore. Thank you, dear Patrick. You´re full of surprises:-)

:-)That´s why I didn´t make the photo in B/W. Some of the bonefeel would disappear. Anyway I also wanted to play a bit with people´s mind because we might look so civilized on the outside, but on the inside we might be animals ready to burst out. I don´t know if I got that feeling through.

Yes, they have rugbrød. The place I use is O & H Bakery and they just call it Danish Pumpernickel bread but it is rugbrød, a coarse rye bread (slice it thin!) with seeds on it. Put butter on that and wow!!!!! It is great. Racine has some other bakeries that sell the bread as rugbrød, but they do not ship it like O & H does. --Jan

Oh yes, I heard that Wisconsin and Minnesota was full of old immigrants from Scandinavia probably feeling at home there because of the weather? How amusing that you got to taste all the Danish smørrebrød and also kringle. Although I have a serious sweet tooth I was never much into kringle and other pastry. It´s quite cozy hearing that you order kringle from there though:-)Do they also make the dark bread called rugbrød? Take care Annemette

Annemette -- I grew up in Wisconsin where there are a number of towns and villages with people primarily of Danish descent. I lived in a place called Racine, Wisconsin where many fine danish dishes could be found including superb Kringle. As for the Pålæg og smørrebrød, I have had many different kinds of these wonderful open-face sandwiches with eel, pork, beef, salmon, beef tartar and so forth. As for the rødgrød med fløde, I have seen this fine dessert (berries mushed up with cream on top as I recall) but never tried it. I do not have much of a sweet tooth except I could never resist the Kringle. I now order the Kringle three or four times a year from Racine and have it shipped to my house for special occasions. --Best to you and all your wonderful food, Jan

Don't change anything! I know there are things you could change, but the imperfections are part of what makes it so brilliant! It's got a rough energy both in terms of lighting and composition that is so appealing to me. If it was all slick and precise, I wouldn't like it nearly so much. Where's that award, Usefilm? No doubt heading to some cutesy-cutesy shot of a gurning infant as usual...

Annemette - Give me Pålæg and smørrebrød instead and I will be much happier. This meal has been picked clean before I got here. :) I agree with Patrick: quite brilliant and it should not be changed. --Best to you, Jan

THIS IS A MASTERPIECE. Seriously, one of the best, most original and utterly fantastic photos I've EVER seen! It's brilliant, Annemette! The crude flash lighting works an absolute treat and brings out the texture and colour in the bones so successfully. God this is so good... it deserves every award Usefilm has to offer. The only thing is, I didn't laugh - I gasped, in an awestruck sort of way.
