About A smaller branch looks like the bigger one, the bigger one looks like the tree. Self similarity is something quite usual in natura and natural growth. The so called chaos is not necessarily something which allows no predicitons at all. Sometimes it allows qualitative predictions. A tree like the depicted is computable - but each computation would result in a tree that is not exactly the same. It is only similar to the general look of the given species. The exact position, angle, etc of the branches depends on the start conditions of the calculation. So chaos sometimes allows to define some kind of general look. A very nice invention of nature, this kind of chaos, as it allows each individual of some species to have to the own look while still belonging to the same species. If all trees of a certain kind were exactly the same they would be simply boring and if they were completely different they would be frustrating and not recognizable as individuals of the same class.

On the photo itself, I think that it is OK in general with some overexposure problems on the lights. I was lucky enough to find that tree in front of that background that makes its lookins rather clear.

Any comment would be very appreciated.

Thanks a lot Ralf! I am very glad that you noticed this one since it is a rather "hard" one. It doesn't use simplicity for itself but rather as the basic element of construction of complexity.

Best wishes,

Nick
