Only rationale for my observation is that both were shot wide open, and "Studying" is crisper through the eyes, eye lashes, nose and lips... Incredible feat considering f1.8 aperture...IMHO!

Very, Very nice portrait Larry...!!! IMHO, one of your best! Wonderful use of the wide-open lens, and POF. Looks like a winner to me... Probably should print and frame... :-)
