Ehm..."in the italian phrase is actually referring to frontal anatomy"...that's right: lower part...really vulgar. [OT off] Cheers, Paolo

Thanks, Paolo. I have a new word in my Italian vocabulary. I'll go ask my friend Maria about it as I was only able to find this small discussion about it here:

Yes, James: "donna calda"...in an unpolite way, "gnocca" ; I've got it. "Boob"?...I knew that. :) About the eyes, I've left them as they are, adding a slight saturation. Another advice to take care of. Thanks again, James. See you tomorrow! Cheers, Paolo

Oh, Paolo. A hottie... sure Master, Leader--in her own way. Forse in italiano c'č una donna calda? E, boob č una tetta.
I also should say that it's important to state if you do any PS work (and if so, what was done) in the About section. For instance, this one the only color is in the eyes--was that natural or did you adjust things in PS?
See you around.

Oh, James...this is not only the longest comment you've made...but it's also the most complete comment I've ever seen!...and I'm not only talking about quantity. So, first of all, many, many thanks for spending your time with me! You've widened my eyes and I perfectly understand your point ov view. An explanation of the title is due: the first thing I noticed before taking the shot was lighting; I ran to take the camera before the cat decided to move away from light and stood waiting for the right moment. The moment came when she started staring somewhere as if there was a fly o something similar. The light is on her eyes...ok, click! :) Looking at the result, I very was satisfied with lighting but even more with the cat's look. Curious and almost ready to jump over the victim...or its ghost. So, "curiosity" was the starting point; the rest of the title was just for fun. :) I see that all these consideration were only in my mind but if a shot cannot give an emotion by itself...probably the photographer goal is not completely achieved. Telling something in the about, in this case, would have certainly helped. Many thanks also for the many other sage advices that fill your precious comment (rated good, of course). I'll keep them in mind from now on. Sorry for taking so much time to reply but English is not my primary language and I'm a bit rusty with it. :BTW...I think I can guess but...what's the meaning of "hottie"? Perhaps a master? ...a leader? Well...I'd better "save my work" and press the "Add comment" button as I've bored you enough. ;) Tomorrow I'll certainly make a visit at your portfolio. My very best regards and thanks again. Paolo

Yeah, I think there are a number of things I could say, but I don't know if they would actually change things. A lot of my pictures which I think are hot sht get completely ignored. So, keeping that in mind, here goes.
I try to include important information in the About section. For this shot I would have said some of the things you just wrote to me: light ray, camera angle, DoF, etc. Say what you think is to be noticed about the shot. After I look at a picture I read the About. If there is nothing in the About that's a disappointment (especially for an unusual shot).
Cute may sell well, but it's viewed as easy (cute animals, sunsets, flowers--these things have to be really exceptional to get noticed in part because they are so often done).
Use your title to say something. Though I do like this title it does not say anything about what you told me was important, nor does it seem to say anything about what a viewer will see in the photograph.
Boobs are wonderful. Does this really need explanation? If you're a hottie, people will comment gloriously on the macro shot of the scab on your knee. Alternatively, you can take pictures of hotties and get comments (though not so many since if you are a hottie you'll also get comments from suitors).
Make comments on other people's pictures and hope for the best. Sometimes you gotta nudge people into having a close look at what you are doing. If you find someone who shot a similar photo, give them your link. This site must get a few hundred images posted every day. If I go through them all, I go through them pretty quickly. There are some folks who I don't comment on (because they have consistantly not replied to me or commented on my stuff), but that's pretty slight.
Ok, this is my longest comment ever. Hope it helps.

Dear James, as you're the only one leaving a comment on this shot, I'm asking you whats's wrong with it. Maybe there aren't enough elements that allow reading it...maybe it seems I've used a flash light...or the photo is perfectly readable but it's just considered poor. Before posting it I was very proud of this shot: the light beam filtering from an open door that paint a path and hits the cat's face and his eyes that seem to shine by themself (beyond the "tricky" way of leaving colour inside them) and that stare somewhere. The unusual camera angle and the shallow dof that focus the cat's look. These are the ingredients, imho, but it seems it's not a great mix... :( Any idea?
Thanks in advance and have a good day.
Best regards, Paolo

Oh, they say curiosity killed the cat. But I know better. Some thing killed the cat...
and it's still out there.
