About With the coming of spring, these flowers once were seen everywhere in south Louisiana, now you have to hunt for them. The vines are scarce and if you are lucky to find one, they are most likely to be out of bloom.

Russell; I believe two of you reviewers have excellent points, crop and darken. Maybe something like this. This image has great potential.

a wonderfully sharp capture, with great lighting, and nice color, but I'd like to see it cropped a little differently, so it's not quite in the center of the frame.

Wonderful flower photo! So sharp and detailed with very nice light! A little bit to many leafs around perhaps... It might be a good idea to crop a little bit on top and left, and then you get closer to the flower while you at the same time get rid of some leafs and have a more interesting composition when the flower is not exactly in the middle.

What a strange and interesting flower! The light here appears a bit dark, as if this were shot in the shade. Feels like it needs a slight bump in contrast and saturation of color. Composition is nice, including the curled line of the stem.

What a beautiful flower with great lighting and wonderful detail!! I agree with Bob, are you sure the aperture was 1.8, the background seems too in focus for such a large aperture.

I've never seen a flower like this - thanks for showing it. Are you sure the aperture was f/1.8? You seem to have pretty wide DOF.
