Last week I found a long lost treasure in my attic. Lots and lots of transparencies that I shot with one of my favorite cameras of all times. Being young and stupid at the time I traded the camera away for a full frame Pentax Spotmatic that I never used very much. These ships, once U.S. Navy Destroyer Escorts were built during WWII to deal specifically with submarine threats. At the time of this photo, approx. 1969, they were serving in the Japanese Navy (Maritime Self-Defense Force). I thought it was rather ironic as one ship in this class (USS England) sank six Japanese submarines in a 12 day period.
Beautiful photo reportage, I like old war ships, expecially Destroyer Class, my father was sign on Italian Destroyer during the last WWII for 5 years. Congrats for this shot very interesting ! Regards.....Walter ps Thanks for your comment on my Portfolio.
