About Last night I was due to illness rather sleepy, but nonetheless I took my new cam after dinner and walked down to the fjord and took lots of photos manually like down by the sea. I adore being able to work with it manually. A beautiful night with the swans and "råger"(crowlike birds) and other birds filling the nightair with their voices
Shutter 15, aperture F14, exp. -3.0, focal length 20mm, ISO 100.
After getting the new cam I donīt feel the same need to do anything with the photos in PS afterwards, but you might disagree with me:-)

Wow. Great image. Great colours, balance, composition, love the way the clouds walk your eyes across the photograph.

I can smell the salt in the air :)

I did see the RAW-setting on my cam and the usual jpeg. What is the difference, Ace? Can you help me with that question?

D80 is wonderfull ... i have a large collection of D80 and D40 images its kinda hobby of mine collecting samples ... later i will send you few shots D80 :)

40 is good for who dont wanna spend editing PS ... most of photographers use Raw! to edit PS and its good the way you want to edit your images :)

You might be right. I didnīt do any work on this image at all though and almost nothing on the other new oneīs either, but maybe Iīll start doing it after a while. Right now I just enjoy the quality of the new cam.:-)
I thought about a NikonD40, but the quality and possibilities were not quite the same as in NikonD80. Still I didnīt think Iīd ever get one. My husband gpt a raise though and knew what I was looking at and came home one night with the camera:-0 Just incredible for me to receive such a precious gift!

Thank you, Ace. Iīm so thrilled about getting this new cam, so although still being a bit worn out from illness, I canīt help but walk down to the fjord shooting at night or go to the ocean and stand there all happy while freezing because of this camera and all the new opportunities:-)
Take care

Annemette I also don't have the filter, but planning to buy. one half of such a filter is darker than the other, while the other half - in most cases - is completely clear. it used when one part of the picture is brighter than the other. say a scene during sunrise or sunset

"A work of art".. what better comment to receive?:)Thank you, MIchele. Amusing and understandable that you experience the same as I do in terms of better photos and less need to post-processing. A better camera DOES do a difference, eh?:-) Still I also like having the possibility to be creative on PS like you do and do something humourous. I havenīt done that for a while though.
Take care
Annemette

Just lovely Annemette -- A work of ART !
With this image and your discription of the evening -- I feel very calm, and tranquil viewing this image . Not a million exclamation marks can YOU belive it ?
I too felt exactly like you when I got my new camera and my shots were like from another world ( sporatically) I thought PS , Photofiltre, why? and I still on occasion just don't feel a need to do anything as far as post-processing-- b u t when all conditions aren't perfect, like candids, snap-shots , traveling --- I find it is nice to have the choice --ha!! I LOVE this one-7+++++++++++

Best wishes,
Michele~
