Peta,
I think this is perfectly done... ;)
You are tring to put a round peg in a square hole... The lines are vertical and horizonal, but your lens is round... Although Canon makes the EF-S, series lens' I think that the f/2.8L series does just fine except for wide angle... ;)
Nobody can get any better results than this IMHO,
Martin

Yeah! It's so straight, my first thought was this could almost be used as a seamless texture. Great details and textures. Nice use of the proper tool at the proper time, Peta.

Hey Petabyte;
I think that the overall theory is good, seems square, kind of the urban experimentation you'd get from Todd Miller and company.
There's some sharpness and regularity, some play with the paint and glass textures as well.
However, I think that this one could be reduced to further essentials? The crop here to get it off center and more as an assymetric is good - maybe push it further depending on resolution.

Yea, well... It looks like you took it from the first level and not street level. Which means you were VERY successful with the transform/perspective tool! Well done!!! It looks nothing like the original. Fantastic!

I think this is brilliant. You did an awesome job with perpective correction and the tones and contrast are just perfect. Only looks like it could use a 0,5 degree clockwise rotation. Best, JF
