A friend gave my wife and I a crystal heart cut with many facets for our ?? wedding anniversary. I tried numerous times to film it but always got so much glare you could not read the message. I finally put it on a light blue background and used flash. I was surprised at the prism effect around the edges. I cant decide if I like it or not so am going to let you decide.
These things are hard to capture accurately, Del. Maybe a slightly darker background would help bring out the engraving more, but I like the way the light brought out the edges. BTW, I did a number of takes of the dolls to get the spacing, shadows etc just right, and at different exposures. When you do these things just once in a while, it takes a lot of experimentation, which is one of the beauties of digital photography, with it's instant feedback. Dave.
